4-Weeks - Repertoire

Service Description
**Repertoire courses focus on learning songs and tunes, along with the history and social context of the music. Arrangements are generally presented with a scaffolded approach so that novice to advanced students can all participate.** Fiddle tunes are rhythmic melodies with no words, traditionally played for dances. Sometimes words are retrofitted to sing along with the tune, but the melodies are typically played as instrumentals on fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, or DULCIMER! Fiddle tunes can come from a variety of regional genres — old time, bluegrass, Irish, Scottish, French-Canadian, etc. In this class, Erin Mae will share one or two of her favorites each week, breaking down the form and patterns so you can more easily memorize, internalize, and bring them up to speed. Re-tuning and a capo may be required.
